It’s hard for me to wrap my brain around the idea of waiting till Monday, next week, next month or next year to start your fitness journey. Yet I see it constantly.
But why wait? Is Monday a better time somehow?
Is there a higher chance of success?
Is it somehow easier to start at the beginning of a week, month or year?
I find that hard to believe. I actually think it’s just an excuse because it’s too uncomfortable to start right now. I think it’s a way to delay the decision of starting and the unfortunate thing is that the longer you wait to start, the less likely that start will actually happen.
The thing is, starting your fitness journey doesn’t require a calendar appointment. It requires a decision. All you have to do is decide to do it and boom, you’ve started!
So why can’t you decide to start now? What possibly could be your excuse to not start this very instant?
It’s Friday? It’s late at night? You’re in bed? At work?
Is that really an excuse to not decide right now you’re going to change your life?
I specifically posted this on a Friday night so you’re reading this late or on the weekend and it’s inconvenient to start in this very moment. But you can still decide and take action.
You can change your alarm to 5am tomorrow and get started. You can decide to stand up in this moment and do 10 push ups or squats. You can decide that first thing tomorrow morning you’re going to dump out all of the soda you have in your house. Make any one of those decisions and you’ve started.
The best part is that you didn’t have to wait till Monday and you’re already creating momentum starting right now!
So really, what are you waiting for?
